Excellent for ornamental purposes, it forms a very thick and dense carpet made up of blue-green needle-like leaves. It should not be cut below 5-6 cm. It resists drought well and is the species that grows most slowly among the microthermal species. It is mainly used in combination with red fescue, Poa pratense and perennial ryegrass.
